I am an experienced, agile and strong 20 year-old male sailor from the Buzzards Bay and Newport areas. I'm 5'11" and weigh 175 lbs. I grew up sailing dinghies and smaller keelboats at a young age. Soon I started sailing bigger boats in larger and more talented fleets. I sailed in high school and have continued to sail in college for St. Mary's College in MD. Over the past 7 or so years, I've competitively raced on a Baltic 54, Andrew's Turbo Sled 70, Taylor 44, J/105, J/109, J/80, J/24, as well as several other PHRF/IRC rated boats. On these boats, I have been at mast, bow, pit and behind the winch. The majority of the time I trim or grind, but I will fill whatever position is needed. Some of the regattas that I've sailed in include KWRW's, BIRW's, several NOOD's and PHRF/IRC regattas, J105 NA's, J24 Nationals, Rolex regattas and various national and international 1 Design Events.

I am an easy going, but focused sailor. I look forward to contributing to a cohesive team and having a good time both on and off the water. Please feel free to call or email me anytime. A resume and references are available on request.

Here is an awesome opportunity to take advantage of this coming Key West. David Schmidt, associate editor with SAIL Magazine is looking to crew aboard a Melges 32. Key West is an exciting event and surely crews may not have been finalized.

David weights 190-195 lbs. He has sailed his entire life, lots of dinghy racing as a kid focused mostly on ocean and bluewater cruising in the past 10 years. He has not sailed on a M32 but has raced J/24s, J/27s and a few other 30-footers. Taught sailing in college and as stated above writes professionally for SAIL Magazine.

I am available for crewing on a Melges 32 or Melges 24. Will be in Key West from January 16th until January 26th. I can weigh between 175lb and 180lb and can work in all positions (except tactician). I have 4 yrs+ on the Melges 24. 20 yrs+ on 30-40 footers (Olsen 30, J|120, Peterson 40 and Mumm 30, etc.) doing all positions.
